User Content and Copyright Policy
Rules for uploaded and shared content, rights confirmation, takedown reports, and repeat infringement handling.
Your Responsibility
You are solely responsible for every course, image, video link, chess line, annotation, PGN, comment, title, description, and other material that you submit or share through Inchess.
Before uploading, importing, publishing, or sharing content, you must verify that you own the material, have permission from the rights holder, rely on a lawful license, or have another valid legal basis. Inchess does not clear rights for you.
Content You Must Not Submit
You must not submit copied chess books, commercial course material, puzzle sets, video lessons, images, text, databases, annotations, or other protected works unless you have the rights required to do so.
You must not remove rights notices, hide attribution requirements, bypass license conditions, mislabel third-party content as yours, or use content in a way that violates privacy, publicity, confidentiality, trademark, contract, or platform terms.
Rights Confirmation For Publishing
When you publish public access, create link access, or prepare direct sharing, Inchess may require a separate content rights confirmation. By confirming, you represent that all included content can lawfully be shared in the selected mode and that you accept responsibility for claims related to that content.
You must repeat this check whenever you add new material, change the audience, import content, or receive notice that rights may be disputed. Inchess may keep rights-confirmation records connected to the course and account.
License To Operate The Service
Subject to your privacy, access, and sharing settings, you grant Inchess the rights needed to host, reproduce, transform, display, distribute, transmit, cache, back up, moderate, analyze, and make your content available according to your settings and the Terms of Service.
This license allows Inchess contractors and service providers to process content only as needed to operate the service for Inchess.
This license includes the right to generate previews, thumbnails, learning views, search indexes, notifications, backups, moderation records, audit logs, and other technical copies required to operate and protect the service.
Designated Copyright Contact
If you believe content on Inchess infringes your copyright or related rights, use the Inchess legal report form and select Copyright. The report form is the designated copyright contact channel unless Inchess publishes another copyright contact.
A useful report should identify the protected work, identify the affected Inchess content with a URL or other reference, explain your relationship to the rights holder, include a contact email, state that you have a good-faith belief the use is unauthorized, and confirm that the information is accurate. A typed name may be treated as an electronic signature when appropriate.
Review And Restrictions
Inchess may remove, hide, disable sharing for, or restrict content while reviewing a report or after receiving a credible complaint. Inchess may ask for more information, reject incomplete or abusive reports, forward relevant report details to the user who submitted the content, preserve records, or take account action.
When forwarding report details, Inchess may limit, redact, or withhold sensitive personal, child-related, security, or abuse-related information where appropriate.
Reports that lack enough information to identify the content, the claimed work, the reporter, or the legal concern may take longer to review or may be closed without action.
Counter-Notices And Appeals
If your content is removed or restricted because of a rights report and you believe the action was mistaken, you may respond through the available report or support channel with enough information to identify the content, explain your rights or lawful basis, and allow Inchess to review the issue.
Inchess may restore content, keep it restricted, request more information, or require the parties to resolve the dispute outside the service. Inchess does not decide ownership disputes as a court or legal authority.
Repeat Infringement
Inchess may suspend or terminate accounts, restrict sharing, delete content, or block access for repeat or serious infringement, credible rights complaints, false ownership claims, or attempts to evade enforcement.
False Or Abusive Reports
Do not submit false, misleading, automated, retaliatory, or abusive rights reports. Inchess may restrict reporting access, suspend accounts, preserve evidence, or take other action when reports are used to harass users, silence lawful content, or create legal risk.
No Legal Advice
Inchess cannot tell you whether your use of a third-party work is lawful. If you are unsure, do not upload or publish the material until you obtain permission or professional advice.
